Feeding our community, our souls and our soils
Welcome to Wild Winds Farm
Our farm is a regeneratively managed farm located in New Haven, VT. We are your local source for grass fed, pastured, and forest raised meats. We believe that nutrient dense foods come from land that is managed holistically and with the interconnectedness of animals, water, soil, pastures and forests at the forefront of our methods. We want to invite our customers to learn more about how we raise our animals and to get closer to their food and their farmers.
Our Mission
Our mission is to feed our community, our souls and our soils. We aim to produce nutrient dense meats from humanely raised and slaughtered animals to contribute to the vitality of our community while improving the health and resilience of the land that we steward. Our practices are intended to optimize the life of our animals while also providing a healthy and sustainable lifestyle for our family filled with nature and connection to our land and food.
What We Do
We believe that nature has provided us the tools necessary to raise animals for food in a way that not only respects the integrity of our soils, water and forests, but also increases the productivity and health of those resources. Our goal is to tap into that wisdom and use several species of animals to complement one another in cultivating our land. From using goats to manage overgrown invasive species, to using pigs to till and press seeds and using cows and sheep to harvest pastures and replace nutrients.
At Wild Winds Farm, you can purchase grass fed and pastured meats including beef, pork, and goat. Our products are sold in bulk quantities only, meaning that you purchase a whole, half or quarter of an animal and all of the cuts that that entails. We believe that animals deserve as stress free of a life, and death, as we can provide. For us, that means slaughtering animals on the farm so that their last experience does not involve a stressful ride to a slaughterhouse. Not only is this the right thing to do for the animal, we also believe that it is the best thing for the quality of the meat. In order to do this, and be compliant with state regulations, customers must purchase in bulk quantities.
